PodCast Support in iTunes 4.9

Tuesday, June 28th, 2005

Starting today you can manage your subscriptions to podcasts right from iTunes. Download the latest and greatest version (4.9) here: http://www.apple.com/podcasting

UPDATE: This is great news guys (and gals)! Within a day the number of subscriptions to the KastPod more than doubled. Looking at the stats, I can see that this new traffic comes from iTunes EXCLUSIVELY! I say: Wow.

UPDATE 2: And it is surely why any of the casts hosted by podshow.com can’t be reached AT ALL! That’s Adam Curry’s brainchild and his poor site must be breaking under all the attention from the iTunes community…

#5 Broken Feet & Bonus Tracks

Monday, June 27th, 2005

BlainCast, Podsafe stuff (as usual), Crash in 1945, Announcement about a special Kastpod and some dance tunes, all just because I felt like it! Get it at this place and listen to the bonus track!

KastPod Contest Winner?

Tuesday, June 21st, 2005

Was there a contest, why wasn’t I informed, what’s the prize?

Maybe I got some ’splaining to do! I went back to one of the old message boards we have here in the Hickory-smoked Heartland. It’s where some of the locals hang out. I used to, but not anymore… I thought it would be good advertizing for the KastPod if I posted a message and told the people at the donut-shop about the KastPod. In the process of doing so, I unleashed a barrage (spelling?) of comments by asking people to guess my old MSG board identity. I said that if they guessed correctly, I would give them their own 15 minutes (well seconds really) of fame and mention their name on the KastPod. So that is what this is. Just keeping my end of the bargain… A special 1.5 minute long “Podunk-Kansas-My-Hat-is-Off” to the winner of that totally pointless guessing game! Listen to it here!

Skinny has left the Studio

Studio!
This mess is where I record. Can you spot the iRiver? Hint: couple of feet from the ashtray.

#4 Spyware that’s PodSafe

Monday, June 20th, 2005

Oops rolled in too much bass on the mic. Oh well! Today PodSafe and Creepy. Cold war spies still active on short-wave radio. New voice over talent. Anne Davis, Half the World, Samantha Murphy and a guy that can’t help but swear — Don’t play this in front of the pointy-haired boss (I warned you).

#3 - NOT FOR THE WORK-PLACE!

Sunday, June 12th, 2005

Me ranting about stupid road-signs, bluesy podsafe tunes and historical audio from 1945. Get it here!

#2 With David Letterman

Thursday, June 9th, 2005

Much better sounding but I do need my levels (and my head) checked. Today with Podsafe tunes, Wanda Wisdom, David Letterman and our own stupid Top 10! Get it Now!

Yeah Yeah! Number 1

Thursday, June 2nd, 2005

Still crappy sounding even after re-recording with the AKG D80 (Thanks Marco). This time it had nothing to do with the Mic, I am just a lousy recordist :) . In this first Episode:

Podcast-Superstar-Skype-VoiceMail
The invention of the Telephone (the real birth of PodCasting)
The BlainCast….

And some other stuff. Download it HERE!

Stand by Some More

Wednesday, June 1st, 2005

This is where #1 of the new show should have been. But… While I was editing the MP3, I heard some really nasty noise. Of course I wasn’t paying attention while recording it. Didn’t have headphones on, was monitoring the levels on screen and the overal sound thru my tiny tiny speakers… *sigh* I should have known better. Turns out the Microphone is KAPUT! Sounding like you are standing outside on a windy day is one thing if you are soundseeing, but not *IN* the studio… Stay put! I promise there WILL be a show…. Sometime in the not so distant future — I hope.
