Oh and I forgot to mention that today, I got interviewed for Dutch National Radio, by a guy going by the name of: Giel Beelen, for a show going by the name of: Alles Uit De Radio Cast. It’s in Dutch, so… sorry yankee fans! A podcast of it will be up by Sunday, at which time I will supply all SWB hungry rabids with the proper linkage. (for the uninitiated, 3FM is the name of the network/station/whatever)
Finally! I am back from my podcast vacation. Somewhat self-inflicted, somewhat mandatory, my doctor told me to take a break if I didn’t feel like dying from a heart-attack at 40 (years of age, not number of episodes). But I am all done with that and now it’s time to get back into the shwing of things. 30 minutes of already classic, already vintage SWB. Music by Los Lonely Boys, Pat Boone and lesser known but nevertheless killer… Pat Vitagliano. Took the recorder on my trip to Dallas last week, so some soundseeing as well as yours truly burping (hey what else is new) into the Microphone… And of course, the second installment in the series: Where In The World Is Adam Curry! Come and GETZ it!
For the “un-initiated”, I was in Dallas on a pseudo-vacation. The Missus (Missus White Boy, I guess you’d call her) was there to attend the 21st AANP national conference and I went along, to get some R&R. While she was taking in all the lectures and classes and group sessions and what not, I slept, shopped sight-saw and all things I normally don’t get to do (read, read some more, shop some more, read, shop, etc…). Missus White Boy is dog tired now (so I drove her home — all 5 hours) and I am well rested and ready to get back to podcasting!
I needed a break from doing a weekly show, but now I can’t wait to get back. Holland got knocked out of the World Cup Soccer (Football in all countries but the US) so that means I don’t have to waste time sitting in front of the TV. If I can get through all the soundseeing that is waiting for me on the iRiver, you will hear what the Sixth Floor Museum sounds like (from where JFK got shot — or so they say) as well as sound bites from a Murder Mystery Dinner Show…. It’s going to be a full episode! Glad to be back!

The Cats have EXTRA food EXTRA water, the bird cage is stuffed with EXTRA food, water, snacks… It’s time to send myself packing, or I’ll never make it to Dallas! DFW-Land, here I come!
What on earth happened to 80’s footbal (as a tru’ blue euro-boy I refuse to say soccer) superstar striker Marco van Basten, whom now coaches the Dutch national team? Look at this… Picture of Basta now (taken during the 2006 World Cup) and one of him then. Ok, so he was never a “looker” but djeez, talk about aging ungracefully! YUK!
I am typing this on a new/old laptop. An ancient Toshiba Satelite that is almost 100 years old and was picked up for me at an auction for only 200 USD. It’s only 700mhz and 64 Mb of RAM, but with a fast connection to the internet it’s more than sufficient to do stuff like… well updating the SWB web site for instance.
I am still on my “self inflicted podcast vacation”, and will be until after next week. What is next week, you may ask… My real vacation! That is, Missus White Boy needs to go to a conference in Dallas and I am tagging along. I will be bringing the recorder along. Don’t know what will get taped yet, but something is! I am for sure going to visit some museums (as I did the last time) because I am totally nutz about anything JFK (well his death that is).
I am almost out of the sanatorium, but for now I am enjoying the hell out of it. After posting my last message about my “mental” state, I got an email from a very good and very dear and very long time friend, applauding my decision to take it easy. Since he is such a good friend and, at times, such a wise man, I decided that if I had his consent, I should prolong my podcasting hiatus.
I am however itching to get back into the groooooove. But now my schedule won’t let me… Imagine that!
