#51 Jumping Jack-Ass… It is a Gassssss!

Installment 4 of WITWIAC (the Adam Curry bit), Music of course, Wolfman Jack in the Historical Sound Byte and I just cannot seem to shut up about the conspiracy that is Global Warming. Of course my SUV is to blame for that… No, it’s the windy people of Kansas… Oh no wait, It’s the windy state of Kansas and the windy PEOPLE that eat beans… Oh no wait that is the sollution to the problem! Farts and other things that produce wind. If we all keep eating beans we will have no energy crisis. If we stop eating Mexican food, well… we will run out of oil in the time it takes to listen to this KastPod. Oh you think this text is incoherent? Wait till you listen to the show!

from Wikipedia: “Lake Oswego is a city in northwest Oregon just south of Portland, Oregon, surrounding the private, 405-acre (1.6 km²) Oswego Lake.”

Lake Oswego isn’t a lake; it’s a city around Oswego Lake, which is.

Incidentally, Atlantis is a city and country club in Florida, right down the street from me.

While I sincerely want to thank you for the information, you have to admit that the joke works better without said information. Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Go ahead, spoil all the fun! :-D

Seriously, I suspected Lake Oswego being a city although I seriously doubt the intelligence of the people that named it. Speaking of country clubs. The PGA tour will visit the one down the street from me, next year.

There are windmills in Kansas actually, but not nearly as many as there could/should be. Drive from Parsons to Wichita on KS-400 and you’ll see them. If I’m informed correctly they produce energy for Empire Electric (which supplies electricity for Joplin MO and a few other places).

News article here: Kansas Wind Farm Dedicated.

I’m a little behind with my podcast listening as usual, so if you already mentioned this in a newer edition, my apologies. :)

From when is that article? I have driven exactly that route on US 400 and have never seen a windmill on that stretch of road. Of course i since moved to OK, so what do I know :D

May 11. Checking on another website it looks like it was 2006. I drove past there 2 weeks ago and can confirm that they’re there. Here’s another article confirming that it’s pretty new: Elk River Wind Power Project Delivers Renewable Energy

    Hope that helps! :)
